Situated in the historical centre of Montalcino, this 18th- century building is set in the marvelous Tuscan countryside, between the valleys of Arbia and Orcia. The rooms to the rear enjoy breathtaking views of the Orcia and Arbia valleys and look out onto a large garden with a swimming pool, built in a style consistent with its Medieval surroundings. The remaining rooms, some of which are split-level, also retain the flavour of their ancient Tuscan setting. Hotel Dei Capitani offers romantic rooms situated at the rear of the hotel, each one with a private balcony facing the magnificent Tuscan valley.

Some of the other rooms are very large with a "soppalco" (a sort of garret immediately underneath the roof) on 2 floors with a king bed. Downstairs offers a living room with 2 comfortable sofas a TV, mini bar, and a desk. These rooms face the small town street.

All are styled with a typical Tuscan furnishings called Poor Art. The large panoramic window allows you to admire the indescribable and unforgettable view over the Val d'Orcia and Val d'Arbia, embracing boundless spaces with typical colours for every season of the year.

Area Information

Given its proximity to Porta Burelli, the site of the hotel, the Catasto Leopoldino, is thought to have been used as a refuge in Medieval times.

By Car:
Once you enter Montalcino you will see the Fortress; at the roundabout with the monument follow directions to Ospedale (Hospital), going through Via Piero Strozzi. The hotel is located in Via Lapini, at number 6.

There is a small private parking area for customers, included in the price, and about 100 meters away you can find public parking at no charge.
